Sunday...again
So it's Sunday again. Another week and flown by, and I'm sitting in an exhausted stupor. However life is good. I have all my limbs, got to eat a chocolate frosty (yum!), read about my friends' exciting lives, finally do Christmas with my best friends (got some stellar earrings, bracelet and necklace-thanks you guys!), finished a rather large project, AND had a stupendous lesson today in Relief Society on lifting where you stand (if you haven't read the talk-it's from the priesthood session of this past conference-you should read it). As I said, life is good, if crazy. And best yet...I'm going to take my two youngest siblings out to CA to visit Rachel and Dave and go to Disneyland. Always a good time.

AAAARRRRGH! (yes, it was THAT good).
So the past few days have been insane. Here's a brief recap cuz I have things I really should be doing instead of blogging.
Monday: MLK day which I absolutely HATE because everything is closed and I could get nothing done! Did sleep most of the day, so that was nice, but still: nothing got done.
Tuesday: spent all day doing homework for this ridiculous class I have called Healthy people/Healthy places. Also read for my "Exploring the dimensions of Human Sexuality". I am too single to be reading some of the things I read.
Wednesday: it was like last Wednesday all over again only longer. I did get to forgo a work out though. We had quarterly supplies to pick up from Sam's Club up in the Valley (about 30 min. drive)-4 pallets worth. Crazy *shaking head*. I did get to eat at one of my fave restaurants: Olive Garden. Yum! Then we had two HUGE donation pick-ups w/ mounds of furniture. All in good shape so it has decent resale and the ladies in need appreciate it I'm sure. I did get to spend the day with Christy who is one of my favorite people. Left home @ 8:20a, got home at 7p, showered and fell into bed. Forgot I had homework due at midnight and slept until 3a. Bad on me!
Today: Spend the morning cleaning and running errands. Got home about 10 mins ago. Put on my jammies and am all settled in for more homework and being fiscally responsible (i.e. balancing my checking acct). Oh, and I joined a gym. We'll see how that works out for me. *eye roll*
Catch ya on the flip side!

I like monkeys
The title of this post has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but I thought it sounded fun. So it is about 5:30am on Sunday morning...that means I have 9.5 hours left in my work week and I have worked 30.5 of my 40 hours in the past 38.5 hrs (started work on Friday @ 3). I LOVE 16 HOUR WORK DAYS!! No sarcasm, it's nice to have three days of nothing but work (and school) and then four lovely days off for my own stuff. Gives me a good chance to be lazy, do my volunteering, read, watch movies, and do my projects.
So I got my taxes filed: love turbotax.com. You should try it. It is quick easy and there is no actual paper involved. Getting a really good tax return this year. Goal is to put half in an IRA, buy a decent digital camera and just leave the rest along for emergencies. *eye rolling* Not sure that'll really happen.
This weekend we've been busier at work than we have probably since last spring. We've been totally booked for the past two nights. To give you an idea of how dead things have been, I could go through an 8 hour shift (11p-7a) and see nobody at all. It was nice, if a bit quiet. But this weekend, I learned the meaning of when it rains it pours. Literally. We had a pipe burst in the ceiling of the first floor. Fortunately it wasn't in a guest's room but guess where it was...wait for it...it was in the electrical room. The room that we have our phone and pay-per-view movie stuff in, as well as our satellite channels stuff. I heard water running, went to see if it was the ice machine and saw water leaking from under the door. I opened the door and it was raining inside. I was soaked from head to toe. It was not good juju, not good juju at all. I was lucky enough that it was on Friday before 5p so I could get someone out AND nothing was damaged. I spent hours mopping the mess up and dealing with about 75 check-ins, but what's life without a little drama, huh? I don't have little people around, so guess I have to do it myself.
I am proud of me though, I got 3 quizzes, 5 discussion posts (one pretty long as it was a original argument in a debate), 200+ pages of text and 3 articles read for school. Sigh, I'll be glad when school is done for the summer and I can have a few months off before starting grad school. Speaking of school we had to take this authentic happiness quiz for my healthy people/healthy places class... quiz was kinda a waste of time (class definitely is!), but not too bad. Mostly, I dislike those self-examination type things.
Oh, and I decided I'm weird. Not just kinda weird, but really a lot and a bit dorky too. :) Just thought I'd share.

Exhausted
So today was the second wednesday of the month. And what does that have to do with anything you may ask...well, the second wednesday of every month is donation collections with a domestic violence group I volunteer with (Against Abuse, Inc). The problem was that I forgot about it. That means that I stayed up until 4am working on homework and various projects (I'm big on the projects) last night and therefore did not get enough sleep. Now I understand that many people don't get enough sleep, but I NEED MY SLEEP. In the words of my brother-in-law's brother (who is in my ward choir): Jeni gets really cranky when she doesn't get enough sleep. However before I elaborate on today, let me tell you about yesterday. Grandma (who I live with) had a doctor's appointment at 8am. This means we left about 7:40 then came back to the house at 7:50am because she couldn't remember if she had turned off her bedroom space heater. :) So we got to the doctor's office, checked in and then waited. When she finally went in I went to run errands. I am pleased with my list: I got her van tires checked, went to the bank, and returned some DVDs (X-files: I want to believe and Babylon A.D.-good movies). Then picked up grandma and we went to Wal-mart...we both needed socks, very exciting I know but I also go some makeup (I'm wearing it almost every Sunday now) ON SALE for like 70% off. Later that afternoon I drove up to Chandler and volunteered for about 2.5 hrs at the Chandler Public Library (I love the library).
Today I spent all day in a moving van. We picked up a ton of furniture. I'm getting to be a pro mover and packer (that is not an advert for help, though if you really need it...). On the plus side, I got lunch out of it, I also go to take a nap (Christy who I do the pick-ups with and I were exhausted so we decided to "rest"), AND I got a fabulous desk/shelf/cabinet thingy that matches my bedroom furniture-FOR FREE! It needs some fixing up but I'm totally stoked. Which is good considering both Christy and I sacrificed some toes in order to get it into my room. :) Now I just have to clean it up and pack my stuff in it. I am satisfied with the past two days' work. They have been successful.
Now that I've caught up, I'm going away. I've some homework to do and want to take a nap first. Napping makes everything better...even homework.

Surrender
I give in...I've finally joined the throngs on facebook, so I figured I might as well go all the way and do a blog too. It seems everyone has one now though my life won't be nearly as interesting as some. Still we'll see how it goes. And we'll see if anyone even reads it. ;^D
